Bricktown
For a taste of downtown Oklahoma City, Bricktown is the place to go. Revitalization of the city’s first wholesale commercial district began in the early 1980s, and Bricktown has been the place to see and be seen ever since. From the restaurants and nightclubs to the shops and the mile-long pedestrian canal, Bricktown is a wonderful place to spend the day or evening—or both.
State Fair Park
The “Horse Show Capital of the World” hosts much more than just horse shows. Like the Oklahoma State Fair, for instance. And the U.S. Team Roping Championships, Oklahoma State Wrestling Championship, Oklahoma City Boat Show, Red Earth Festival and the Mistletoe Market Arts & Crafts Show, just to name a few. Of course, State Fair Park’s horse shows are among the nation’s best, and include the Oklahoma Quarter Horse Spring Show, Grand National Morgan Horse Show, National Appaloosa Horse Show and the National Reining Horse Futurity, among others.
Oklahoma City National Memorial
On April 19, 1995, tragedy struck Oklahoma City and the nation when the Alfred P. Murrah Building was destroyed by Timothy McVeigh’s truck bomb. The Oklahoma City National Memorial is a lasting tribute to the victims, survivors and rescuers from the bombing, and encompasses the Symbolic Memorial, Memorial Center, Memorial Institute for the Prevention of Terrorism, The Gates of Time and the Memorial Fence.
White Water Bay
Cool off and have fun at the same time at Six Flags’ White Water Bay, a 25-acre water park with a ride or attraction for every member of your family. Thrill-seekers will want to give the Acapulco Cliff Dive, Cannonball Falls or Bermuda Triangle a shot, while those looking for something a little lower on the adrenaline scale can enjoy Kids’ Kove, the gigantic wave pool, or Castaway Creek.
Oklahoma City Community College
As the recognized leader in central Oklahoma for health technologies and pre-health professional programs, Oklahoma City Community College is not just another college. The landmark red buildings on the 143-acre campus in the southwestern section of the city have become instantly recognizable to anyone who passes by. A great springboard for students that want to get ahead, Oklahoma City Community College represents an excellent opportunity for those that want to take on new, exciting challenges.
